Who will give you a kidney?

Your transplant team says you’re eligible, and you’ve decided you want a kidney transplant. Your new kidney must come form a person, either alive or dead, who is compatible with you in several ways.

Someone with this blood type:

Can only receive a kidney from someone with this blood type:

Type O Type O

Type A Type A or O

Type B Type B or O

Type AB Type AB, A or B

The Rh factor does not need to be the same. Example: A-negative can donate to A+positive
